9th Palaver Tree. Training and Professional Exchange Forum
"African Cinema in (Re)Action: professional meetings and opportunities for the promotion and boosting of African cinemas in times of global changes".
From May 29th to June 4th, 2021
For the past nine editions, the FCAT and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) have been promoting the Palaver Tree, a unique space where African professionals and international experts meet annually to delve into the aspects that most influence the contemporary film industries of the neighbouring continent.
In this new edition, the 9th Palaver Tree forum will be structured around three strands from which we seek to promote the development, training, promotion and dissemination of African films in today’s international and interconnected markets:
- Thematic Round Tables. A space for dialogue and professional exchange on the social transformation discourses that emerge from contemporary African cinemas.
- FCAT Lab. A brand-new industry space dedicated to professional training and the development of post-production projects.
- African Cinema Seminars. A specialised space for knowledge and dissemination of the history and aspects that define African cinemas.
