The Forum of ‘The Tree of Words’ returns between 29 April and 5 May in this 20th anniversary edition of the Tarifa African Film Festival – FCAT, under the title ‘The filmic memory of the African continent: conservation, protection and access to the cinematographic heritage of the neighbouring continent’.
With a programme in which film professionals and international experts meet to contribute to the development and internationalisation of the film and audiovisual industries of the neighbouring continent, and to deepen and exchange knowledge on key areas of the enhancement and safeguarding of African cinemas, we are launching a new space for dialogue and professional exchange with thematic meetings, our usual film aperitifs, the industry space for post-production support FCAT LAB and the African Cinema Classroom directed by Javier H. Estrada.
With the collaboration of the ACERCA Programme of training for development in the cultural sector of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), and the support of the Tree of Words has become a reference platform not only for the dissemination of specialised knowledge about African and Diaspora cinema in the Spanish-speaking world, but also for the generation of professional synergies that favour the production and commercial positioning of new African film content that transits through our country.
