ESPACE LITTÉRATURE

In an edition of the FCAT in which literature is at the center of the film programme, we could not fail to count on the presence of a renowned writer. Thanks to the collaboration between Casa África’s African Letters programme and the literary collection Libros del Baobab, for several days we will be accompanied by Beyrouk, author of I am alone (Estoy Solo, Libros de las Malas Compañías, 2021), the first novel from Mauritania to be translated into Spanish. The author was inspired by a film by Abderrahmane Sissako, in writing this monologue about a man locked in a room while being pursued by jihadists in a city on the edge of the Sahara Desert.

MEETING WITH BEYROUK AND BOOK SIGNING

The Mauritanian writer Beyrouk presents his book I am Alone. Book signing, conversation with the audience and book clubs.

Presented by Chema Caballero (journalist, Spain) & Chary Arbolí (librarian of Sanlúcar La Mayor, Spain)
